How to get team members?

So in order to have teammates on Ibotta that have to be your friend on Facebook? Wow. Does Ibotta own stock in FB? I have no interest in having a bunch of people as "friends" on my FB because I would like to team with them on Ibotta. Why can't we just have them as friends on Ibotta? That's what I have in common with them.
