I started using Ibotta two years ago (Aug 2018) and I have noticed a difference over the course of the past year on the cash back items. Two years ago it seems there were more cash back offers on items that did help plan meals and I did plan my meals based on the offers, not so much anymore.
I agree with Deboraha, there used to be more "staples" on Ibotta. I would plan accordingly. I still try lots of new stuff but with two picky eaters (husband and 7yr old son) I can't do that as I can't guarantee that it will be liked.
I wish there were recipes on ibotta where the ingredients were ibotta offers. or even when you see some new product on there, that there would be a few ideas on how to incorporate it in a meal.
No. I don't plan using Ibotta as my go to first source. I start with out pantry/freezer, then I look at the local ads & Ibotta. I will adjust plans based on what is on sale or there are offers on, but there is already a basic plan in place.
I've been using Ibotta fore YEARS! And I have found it harder for me to plan meals with the rebates it offers. But then again, they do not offer a lot if the items that I use. EX: I follow more of a Keto diet - so I avoid the snack and cookies which always seems to be on the rebates. And eat a lot of salads and produce which is not an option. BUT when I DO see items I use and all, I definitely try and snag them and use them in my planning!
SADLY, since the pandemic began it has SLOWED my purchase WAY down 😔 AND then when they took away a lot of the online things/places I bought from killed it even more. I am STARTING to see some items I use pop up. BUT I have NOT wanted to just go buy to buy things knowing I will not use them, and let a lone, I am not going out of my way extra with the income being altered thanks to this pandemic. Can we just go back to before this nightmare arrived?!!?
