Good morning all. I am relatively new, I just started utilizing the app a few months ago. I've made pretty good strides in saving money but I'm interested in the teamwork aspect. Can someone tell me what the advantages are of this?
I also created a Facebook account specifically for joining a team on Ibotta. I'm trying to make it as generic as possible turning off all notifications links etc. If you are interested in doing the same and linking up please let me know.
There really aren’t any advantages of being on a team. Team member purchases apply only to the dollar amount required for the monthly Level Bonuses. However, you still have to meet the number of offers required on your own, so you will hit the dollar amount anyway.
a notification went out in the beginning of juky that teammates aren't working they only help with the money amount you need to reach for the monthly bonuses you still need to reach the number of rebates. Theres a pinned post in the deals forum that says november teammates 2020 and says to add your info there even thought they know its not working right now and to not put up post about requests it clogs up the feed. Please find that post and delete this one thank you

What Be-Bop said!!!! There are NO benefits of being on a team.
What Be-Bop said!!! Did I mention there are really NO benefits of being on a team.
The best part of being on a team is that everybody hears that other people are on a team, and they experience FOMO, so they start asking how they can be on a team. Then they start posting about 'how do I get on a team'. Then newbs start posting their referral codes to other users, unaware that you can't get referral money for people who are already ibotta users, and everybody in the community is already an ibotta user. All the while, people who are already on teams start complaining how their current users are no help and how they need new motivated users.
And then they start a thread seeking motivated teammates so they can get rich. We tell them it doesn't help because you still have to satisfy the personal goal (purchase X items), and your team members can't help you there. And then none of the people wanting team members reads or believes that. So they join teams, and in a few months, they wonder why their teammates aren't helping them satisfy their 'complete 15 offers for $25 to get a $1 bonus'. So they complain and ask 'what's the deal?'
Once again we tell them, teammates don't help satisfy the personal goal. And the person says 'what is that?'. And we tell them that is the part 'x offers' must be purchased by each individual. So they say ' why did I join a team?'; and then we say....I dunno.
I suppose having a team member may help early on with a few of the 'redeem 10 offers & $10 worth of offers, to get $1 bonus. But after you have satisfied a few of these, the monthly level bonuses keep getting higher and higher in the personal goal. After you have done this a while, you may have to redeem 25 offers & $25 to get $1 rebate.
If you use ibotta regularly, chances are that you are having more trouble satisfying the personal goal (# offers) than the team goal ($ of offers).
If you are a user who regularly uses teammates to satisfy goals, please tell us the terms of the offer, and how much of it you accomplished yourself,. I suppose there could be some who benefit initially, but not really much after a while.
