The paste worked. But when I hit enter in the dialog box, it merely disappeared and did not show up in the conversation.. I checked paragraph formatting and such.. Since it ultimately allowed me to successfully enter a sentence or two at a time via cut/paste, it obviously wasn't a formatting issue.
Thanks for clarifying. I will keep an eye on it next time. Let me know how it goes next time. Maybe it was a one off, or maybe they have made a change.
Typically I c&p as a single paragraph. If I need to start a new line or paragraph, I would press control + enter (not just the enter key) to avoid risk of immediate posting.
My kroger chat view shows a "send" icon/arrow which is what I click to send the chat.
My laptop ran lots of windows updates earlier this week.

KROGER CHAT PASTE ISSUE SOLVED (SOMEWHAT)
Thanks to @Ibotta-Addict waxing all poetic about the awesomeness of Kroger chat to get missing KCB, I started using that method as well, and have it to actually be quicker than the phone calls. But I liked typing in my whole spiel about my request first and then paste it into the chat window all at once to save time. But then it seemed to stop working. I could paste it, but when I hit enter, it just disappeared and did not show in the conversation,
Ultimately I discovered I was using the greater/less than symbols '<>' in my text and that was the culprit. There may be other special characters that could result in a paste fail, but I do know that parenthesis do not have an issue.
Not sure if anyone else even does chat for KCB issues, and if so, not sure if they use special characters, but now you know.
Last night, I purchased two items that should have gotten KCB. Once again, neither got pulled. My last 4 purchases have not received credit properly. It can't just be me, right?

KCB is still pretty hit or miss at times.
HT at some point recently has been rolled over to Kay's main web design. The exact same interface as Kay's, but it is way faster.
It's old interface was dated. By dated I mean, I had to sign up one day, but couldn't use my account until the computer rolled for the day to the next day. This was just 2-3 years back.
I was dumbfounded. I reshelved my items, in their proper locations; and returned the next day, still in disbelief.
I bought 1 on Tuesday and it didn't come off. I have been chastised by customer service when I try to get my credit before 7 days pass, even though I know it's not going to work. I think I will try chat this time.
My kcb page is messsed up somewhat with most offers listed twice. But none come off when I buy them. The last 2 times I have had to call them, they were somewhat confrontational. I did get my credit but only grudgingly.
I stopped adding duplicate offers. I check to see if I already have it before I add an offer. One time I realized there were duplicate offers clipped. Not sure why they have duplicates active at the same time now.
I had the same thing happen a few times. Kroger said that offers can not be combined with paper or digital coupons. That was why they have never been credited. Hopefully this helps pick the best saving to choose.
