Right??!?! It's like we're depending on a teenage girl's emotional stability to tell us how to proceed...what will tomorrow's faq's look like?
From what they say, even SC will be seen as a coupon. I know from talking to a few people, the system actually picked up that a coupon was used. I would have thought it would have to be an actual person looking at it to detect a coupon. My friend tested out some rebates at kroger with the 5x digitals. The offers didn't exclude the use of coupons, though. I want to test out one that has the exclusion, but I don't see a deal worth doing yet. The townhouse crackers would be a good one to try...$2.29 after 5x with $1/2 Ibotta...still too pricey for me.
I sent them the message before the FAQ was updated, but they got back with me (facebook message) after it was updated.
Townhouse is the only ibotta offer I even see that lines up with a 5X. My IR is $1.50 WYB2, but that is still $2.04 each. Guess we won't learn anything this time, unless someone rich does the Townhouse deal....lol
@Amydstotts I think we need to keep in mind that the social media team or whoever is running response on social messages may also have no idea on what is going on and unless they are a couponer may not understand the difference between store coupons and mfr coupons. The FAQ doesn't mention store coupons being excluded but I guess it does say 'among others' now.
@Rickibotta Yes, way too pricey for some crackers. LOL! Once I pick up my $1.99/lb chicken, I probably won't even be going to Kroger much. There's not much going on there in my opinion.
@elizabeth3 That's very true! I just feel like ECBS and Kroger 5x digitals would be an issue, because they show up as coupons. They need to lay it all out in their FAQ's rather than being so vague. Are they going to leave it up to interpretation and then deactivate accounts because people interpreted it incorrectly?
I agree that Ibotta should do something like change the color for items that don't allow using coupons.
Fortunately, Ibotta wouldn't have to manually change the color for items that don't allow the use of coupons. They could simply modify their software to automatically change the color whenever they display the line about not allowing the use of coupons.
So now to make things even more confusing... This is the fine print for an offer while browsing CVS --
So does this mean I can use a coupon/extrabuck since it's not WM?
I would expect so. My guess is you probably can't get 3 of something at WM, using one PQ. I don't think it would give you any ibotta. Probably is something they can't currently trap properly so it throws out the IR altogether.
