I haven’t done many Target gift card deals, so I have a question:
For the spend $25 get a $5 gift card, if 1 item costs $24.99, will the gift card trigger?
TIA!
No, I am not aware of them ever having a '98%' rule like CVS.
Target currently has a $20 GC WYS $100 on diapers, wipes, etc. I found a Harvest Company wipes that is part of the promotion. When I add 6 of them to an online order, it triggers the $20 GC. When I reduce that to 5 ($99.95 purchase total), it removes the $20 GC and instead lists it as 'potential savings' and mentions to add 5¢ to earn the GC.
@Nique @At my target it does trigger even if I don’t hit the full amount. I don’t know what the exact percentage is but I’ve done a bunch where I’m over 50 cents off and it triggers it. I like to do the gift card deals at self check out because as soon as you reach the threshold amount it will pop up on the screen. Sometimes I will take a filler item up to self check out in case I need it. I don’t know if there’s an official rule or all targets are the same but I’ve had no problem getting the gift card. Also you probably already know this but they calculate it before paper coupons digital coupons etc. are applied!
"Tax will not be included in determing purchase total." I would say no. I always try to go over the required amount just to be on the safe side.
Thanks. I know tax doesn’t count. Thought I saw prior posts where some folks said it triggered.

I don't believe so. It hasn't for me in the past. Grab a peice of candy so it puts you right over.
Thanks @Rickibotta and others!
I don't know if this helps but thought I should let you know. I have a target circle bonus spend $80 3 times get $20 earnings. I spent $78.86 before tax and got credit towards my bonus.

I wonder why it doesn't work online then.
@Rickibotta @Yes I’ve wondered the same thing! Although i’ve noticed that CVS also calculates my spend to get to extra bucks different if I order online via care pass compared to if I do it in the store. My only guess is they’re totally different payment systems since one is point-of-sale solution. But yeah seems like they would still do it the same way!
