Walgreens - Gillette Deodorant MM

** EDIT: see @Mikosmama‘s post below with an even better moneymaker deal at Walgreens. **

Check your IB gallery for the Gillette deodorant BOGO $5.49/2.  My Walmart has this on rollback for $3.97, so $7.94/2 - $5.49/2 = $2.45 oop for a slightly better than BOGO deal.  Anyone have eyes on a Gillette MQ to stack to make an even sweeter deal?

@cjwoody , I know this isn’t Walmart, but you can get a MM at Walgreens with this offer. They are BOGO50, regular price $6.99, so it’s 6.99+3.49=$10.48-2.00 DC on app-4.00 RR- 5.49 IB=  -1.01. Hope this helps someone!

@Mikosmama   Definitely better than CVS which is also BOGOHalf - but my store is showing $7.99 each (and I don't have any matching offers unless I want to spend $30 Get $10)

Remember that.:

  • RR expire within 2 week
  • RR count as a coupon when redeeming

If you don't find a great deal in the next two weeks, you have to use on WG ridiculous prices on most things.  (You can always get some Angel Soft or something though)

If you want to redeem RR on a deal for two products using two coupons, you will have to add a filler item so it is 3 items and 3 coupons

@Mikosmama 🤗 thanks for the great deal!  My Walgreens had a slightly higher price ($7.29 BOGO1/2 instead of $6.99 BOGO1/2) but still a moneymaker nonetheless.  $10.93/2 - $2 DQ - $5.49 IB - $4 RR earned = -$0.56mm (or -$0.10mm after tax).

@cjwoody , you’re welcome! I’m glad you were able to take advantage of it!

@Rickibotta , yep! Great reminders. 👍Thankfully I usually find other great deals in their weekly ads that I can recycle those RR’s into. Sometimes needing a filler item, but I have found it easy to find a super cheap item for that. Wags can definitely be tricky to learn if you are just starting out with them, and of course mistakes can still be made once you learn their system. So I appreciate the reminders!

@Mikosmama  I allllmost grabbed a filler to add as a third item to the Gillette deal.  I started with two $4 RR’s, and I knew that I could only use one of them because I was also using a DQ.  And because I was getting another $4 RR back, I thought about using a filler to help me unload that second RR…. But I decided to roll the dice, so hopefully we get some good deals next week 🎰🎰🎰 !

@cjwoody , I usually try to play it safe like that also to make sure I don’t mess something up. But there should be something next week that we can combine with IB to use those RR’s on. ☺️

Pet peeve of mine.  Someone says:

  • I bought two widgets for $6.  I had two $1 DQs and I earned $4 RR, so both were FREE.       <AND>
  • Then I bought two whatsits for $4 total, and I used the $4 RR I earned from the widgets, so they were FREE

I see this a lawt.

@Rickibotta that’s an easy trap for someone to fall into, especially if not a numbers person - we can’t all be nerds! 🤣

For me, unloading an RR/ECB is about preserving the savings of a prior spend.  Yesterday, I stood in Walgreens holding a $0.60 sucker and looked at it for two minutes wondering if it was better to preserve $3.40 of $4 prior savings (by using it as a filler to unload a $4 time bomb) OR let it ride.  I chose the latter! 🎰
