Excellent answer and this is such great information to know! I was disappointed when I went to scan my receipt 3 days after purchase and the offer had disappeared. I had added the offer, but hadn't gotten around to scanning my receipt. I was going to give up and take the lose, but I will look for it on Monday to see if it comes back. Thanks for the very helpful info!
@RareGoldFYI, a lot of us scan right in the parking lot (if not earlier), because the offer can literally be gone before you make it home. So you definitely want to get out of the habit of letting it linger beyond the day of purchase.
