Hi, I am really frustrated with an Ibotta survey experience. I received a $30 survey offer to buy two cereal items and do a survey and ask my child what they thought of them. I was excited because I don't buy most of the items in Ibotta and I need 7 dollars to cash out. So I pass the qualifying survey and head to Walmart, it says to find the 11.5 ounce reeses puffs cereal, put it in the cart and snap a picture. I find the cereal, put it in the cart and snap a picture, then it shows a regular picture of the box cover and asks if it's the same. The cover art on my box is a little different, because it is a limited edition box cover with " ambush universe" above the regular logo. It is the right cereal with the right number of ounces, just a different box cover. It asks me what is different about the box, I answer that, then it says we're you able to find an identical box in the store, I say no. I get a "you are disqualified" message.
I thought the survey was about the product?!? Why does the cover of the box matter? I never thought I would be disqualified for box art. If I knew the survey was going to end I would have driven to another store to try to find the standard box for $30.
Now I am locked out of the survey.
AAAARRRRGH!
OK, just needed to vent. Ibotta, this survey was truly cruel and unusual punishment. If anyone else gets this survey, find the regular box before you start the survey. I wish someone would have told me. Thanks for reading.
Hi @123Save, we appreciate you escalating this. Confirming that we have passed this along to our team to review and we will use this feedback to enhance future surveys. Thank you!
How disappointing! To receive such a generous survey and then be disqualified is rough. Maybe your post will help someone else doing a survey. I hope you get some great deals soon.
That is really disappointing since you took your time/gas to make a trip to Walmart. I would definitely express this dissatisfaction to Ibotta CS. And thank you for letting the rest of us know to watch out for this
Jennifer, Betsy- apologies for tagging you but this needs attention.
Please pass this along to the appropriate department/stakeholder that handles surveys. This is a horrible experience to put a saver through.
Merci!
I read the post in detail and understood the situation completely. I brought it to Ibotta’s attention because the user experience needs to be improved.
There is a lesson to be learned, read the specifics for the product you buy or doing a survey, you will not get credit if it’s not exact product
There is more to it, the survey said to arrive inside the store before continuing, then told me what I was looking for. I walked into the store "blind". It also showed me a picture of what they wanted after I uploaded my photo. If they had shown a photo up front and said "it must match the cover art exactly", I would have driven to 2 or 3 stores to find it. Do you see my point?
I have never heard of a $30 survey from Ibotta. Maybe it is something new. I have done a couple through the internet for maybe a $1.00, but never so much money. It almost sounds too good to be true.
@GiddyupngoYou said it yourself , you walked in blind. You should have had the exact details prior to purchasing.
