I am very new to this. Im trying to see if I have to pay in app with ibotta to work. Or since my accounts are linked, will it automatically give me the rewards. If I pay in the walmart app for grocery pick up.. I have tried to pay in the ibotta app, but it is not working. Its not allowing me to hit continue. I am using an EBT card, will that still work? Im very confused. On my EBT app it says it can be used.
EBT cards can’t be used for pay with Ibotta, https://help.ibotta.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025373453-What-kind-of-payment-methods-can-I-use-.
The pay with Ibotta option is a way to earn extra back, but isn’t required to get rebates. I’ve only used pay with Ibotta in store, and am not sure it works online. You can launch Walmart and checkout through the app. I have done several pickup orders without launching through Ibotta and have still gotten the rebates. Make sure you have all the offers unlocked before you checkout. It takes a day or so after you pickup your order for the rebates to credit.
There are some good discussions on here of other new users asking for tips. There’s a lot of really good information of how to get the most back. I highly recommend checking out those threads too. I’ve been using Ibotta for 5 years and love it. It’s what you make of it, so putting in the effort and planning will result in more earnings. Good luck and happy rebating!
Great. Thank you so much. I figured I wasn't going to be able to do it that way. I will be making a trip to the store tomorrow. I just thought I may have been doing something wrong.
I know that you can't link EBT through Ibotta and with how they changed pay with Ibotta rules without me knowing, I no longer have any of my credit cards connected and they only allow debit cards which is ridiculous! I won't connect a debit card just to earn a few cents more by using their app to pay for my purchases. Btw, if you didn't know, Amazon gives EBT and Medicaid holders Amazon Prime at half of the cost if you sign-up via their EBT/Medicaid program and you can grocery shop through Amazonn with your card.
