I've had that twice in my neck of the woods.
1) Once for a few pennies at Walmart which I disregarded.
2) Once for a remarkable price for ZENWTR at Whole Foods which I reported.
I informed the monitor of the ibotta Facebook group and received a note of appreciation. The offer's image was incorrect. It was changed promptly.
I did not receive more $ because I had received the AMOUNT the offer stated.
I'm in NC but if I get them at wal-mart it's usually the same price. Target on the other hand is always more. I've seen a few things at least $1 more.
Nyc prices are higher so most items not really free. Also the bogo is not really bogo unless it's on sale if you lucky enough. But some pricing is correct.
You mentioned the CRV in San Diego. I was working in Sacramento for several years and they also have a CRV (though I don't know if it is the same throughout the state). My understanding was you could take your empties that were charged CRV and take them back to recycling spots throughout Sacramento (and the rest of the state) and get the CRV money back. Yes, it was a pain, but I did return a few.
Has this stopped due to COVID-19?
