Uploading Target receipts

SoCalHal
Core Shopper

I seem to have lost the ability to upload receipts for Target. Linking my account is now the only option. I also experienced this about a year ago, and literally stopped completing Target offers because I had to go through Ibotta customer service to get the credit every single time. For whatever reason, my linked Target account never credited “automatically,” whereas my linked Walmart account always does.

Did everyone lose the Target upload option, or do some of you still have it?

@KimPieper3 @Ragged_tiger4  follow the steps shown in the first screenshot below, and you should still have the option to scan/submit a paper receipt. Also, I would need to look into it a little more, but I believe you can pay cash and still utilize the linking option. I’ll try to get confirmation on that, but if I’m understanding it correctly, the link is dependent upon you scanning your unique barcode in the wallet portion of the Target app. This is the barcode you have to scan to receive Circle offers/discounts. Many people have their RedCard, or a Credit/Debit card attached to the barcode to streamline the checkout process; however, it’s not required, and you always have the option to toggle payment forms on/off including gift cards. Even when you’re paying with cash, if your unique barcode is scanned at checkout, I’m thinking that is how the link to Ibotta is processed. @LaraL can you confirm if my interpretation of the link is correct?  I’ll attach some screenshots with illustrations in the Target app, but I’ll first attach the steps for submitting a paper receipt. If you have any questions, let me know.

Target is link only now. Will they change it back if enough people complain I don't know. But this is what target is requiring. i will not be shopping at target for ibotta anymore since I do not link anything.

Mine is only showing the link option as well. I thought it was a mistake due to a update, cause other options were moved around, but all are back in place, except Target.

Looks like Ibotta would have sent a text, email or something to warn us. Only @Dana seems to know.

@LaraL do you know anything about this?

One thought, if you hit redeem on the homepage, then select Target - does that give a scan receipt option??

I still have the option to scan/upload reciepts as well for Target. I have not heard or seen anything about that option going away.

Just went to redeem, then selected Target and the camera came up. I didn't go any further.

But if I understand @Dana, Target has made a decision, so we'll all be seeing link only w Target. If true, it's disappointing.
