I'm trying to up my deal hunting game and am wondering what other people do to maximize their earnings. For example, do you buy things that have a deal whether you need it or not? Thanks in advance for sharing!
I’m glad you’re asking! I’m new to this and all tips help.
If it is free or a mm, yes I get it anyway and find someone to give it to. I have tried many new products that way and have found some new favorites.
I.e. Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle. I now buy a bag almost every week. And I save the small bits and crumbs and stir it into my vanilla yogurt every morning for an extra crunch factor. And Ibotta, fetch and checkout usually all have a rebate to combine for a great deal stack.
@Janet1964 thanks for the tips! I love it when people share creative uses for products they get too. The brittle bits with yogurt sound amazing!
@cheryl_123 , definitely follow the deals that the lovely members of this group post. This has helped me tremendously. And yes, especially if I have a bonus to work for, I will always get the free and MM offers. As @Janet1964 mentioned I have also found many new products that I really like by doing this. If it’s something I definitely can’t use, I give it to someone who can. Between family, friends, neighbors, etc. there are lots of people we can help out that way. Always check and see if there are any printable coupons (or insert coupons if you buy the Sunday newspaper, I don’t do this) that can be used on items on Ibotta. I like printing them from Swagbucks because on top of the actual coupon savings, you get 1 Swagbuck for printing, and 25 Swagbucks for redeeming, so that’s another 26 cents saved.
I mostly shop on Tuesday and Thursday to stack those bonuses with the monthly bonuses. I also shop stores with rewards programs like Walgreens, Target, and Kroger. I also try to purchase items with earn more bonuses.
I make a list (yes, pen and paper) starting with all the Ibotta rebates for each store I shop (Walmart, Publix, Walgreens, CVS and Target). If I see anything that I am interested in trying or something I want, I jot it down. I then fill in my list with items I need.
I then check my other apps: Fetch, ShopKick, Swagbucks and Checkout 51 for more items and hopefully I can stack a few.
I also check the Ibotta Community and the Krazy Coupon Lady website for deals. For Publix, I go to thisfamilysaves.com and iheartpublix.com for the deals at this store.
Don't forget to stack with coupons. I get coupons from the Sunday newspaper.
If you don't get the paper, you can print them from many manufacturer sites. You can also print them from coupons.com. If you have the coupons.com app, you can submit your receipt towards coupons listed in the app. Digital coupons are great for places like Walgreens, CVS, Publix and Target.
Would you guys be ok if I used some of your tips/strategies for a content piece that would live here in the community? Going to have a place where I upload articles and other content produced by Ibotta, and I think this would be a great one!
Ooh, I would love that idea, @LaraL . 😃 I feel like this would be very helpful for new members and old members to refer back to! I know I would regularly check it out!
@mmoore01 , what is it about the good old paper and pen method of making lists? I do the same thing. My husband sees me writing all of this stuff down, and he’s like “why don’t you just make a spreadsheet?” But I can’t wrap my head around doing it that way. I have to have my paper in hand. Although, I have started taking a picture of the my list before I leave the house just in case I forget to grab that list. I have done that and then felt so lost once I got to the store and realized it.
