I have more patience for kids than I do for adults. Ironically I liked physics though my lack of real math understanding greatly limited my physics teaching. I had a lot more training in chemistry, my minor. I didn't like teaching it though because I think I was too timid and worried about the what ifs. In college, while I was in the lecture hall a lab across the hall had a loud explosion- only the lab professor was injured but I always worried that if it could happen to an experienced teacher what could happen if some kid started messing around!! Also high school is the worst age.
My favorite teaching time was with my middle school miscreants. I learned so much from them.
