Beginning Summer 2022, there will be several changes to Walmart and the Ibotta browser extension. Here is what's changing:
1. Walmart will no longer be a supported retailer on the Ibotta browser extension. This means you will not be able to search or add Grocery offers, see Your list or shop for Online shopping offers on the Ibotta browser extension.
The good news is, that you can still browse and add offers to your list using ibotta.com or the Ibotta app to earn cash back on your usual grocery or storewide online shopping offers.
2. The Ibotta browser extension and app will no longer show pink or teal offer icons by items available for Ibotta offer cash back while you’re shopping on Walmart.com.
In the meantime, you can still add offers to your list using ibotta.com or the Ibotta app to earn cash back on all your Walmart grocery items. Just be sure to double-check the offer details before completing your purchase. Here's a helpful article: Why are Offer Details Important?
Sometimes in order to release new improvements, we have to turn off other features. We’re currently working directly with Walmart to bring you even better features that’ll make finding and earning cash back at Walmart easier than ever before. Know that great things are coming very soon!
Thanks for earning with Ibotta!
This is something Ibotta should have announced sooner, like at the actual start of summer. There have been numerous questions about Walmart and the extension not working. It's odd that something that was so heavily promoted would remove it's largest retailer from it's functionality. I can't say that I would encourage anyone to use the extension in the future.

Ibotta used to be a very fun way to search for products on Walmart and save money in the process. However, these changes have made it a super frustrating experience. I don't recommend Ibotta to anyone anymore; it's way too confusing trying to explain it to friends who are new to Ibotta.
Actually, it is pretty simple to explain ibotta to prospective new users:
1) Don't link ANYTHING, unless that is the only option, such as FOOD LION
2) Add offers you like to your list
3) Purchase items in store, verifying MATCH for each product while in 'store mode'
4) Scan receipt, or in the case of WM, the receipt barcode, before you leave the store
5) Leave store. Money perhaps already in account before you hit the car.
Did I mention to not link anything. Don't use the browser extension. Only do online orders for pickup/delivery if absolutely necessary, and expect problems if you do. But, really just stick to shop in store.
I realize I'm a little late to the party but I wanted to mention something that maybe hasn't occurred to the powers that be re: browser extension. For those with a physical disability that involves hands, the browser extension (when it first launched) was a godsend. It's a lot easier to add offers, shop online, etc, with a keyboard and mouse as opposed to a phone. Now, with all the recent changes, the extension is a mess and makes what used to be a fun, easy process into almost a concerted effort to prevent users from being able to do everything right to earn rebates. Shopping in store is not an option for everyone. Just sayin'.
