Ibotta Not Accepting Walmart Receipts / Gives 'Something went wrong' Message

Thanks for the reply. I have tried doing this but there isn't an option for manually uploading a receipt for Walmart. The only options are for scanning the bar code or manually entering the bar code number.

Scanning a barcode or manually entering the TC number is how one uploads a receipt for Walmart.  That's how you 'manually' do it.  Are you not able to scan the receipt because your account was linked and you didn't get a paper one?  Try going under Purchase History in the Walmart app, find the applicable purchase, the TC number will be at the bottom of the page.  You should then be able to enter that into Ibotta.

You can send a digital copy of your receipt from the Walmart app

Go to Purchase History

Select the purchase you wish to share

Tap the share icon in the upper-right corner of the page

Select one of the suggested apps to share

I have the receipt and this was an in store purchase so it's not going to show up in the purchase history. I always do my purchases in store and scan the receipt in to get credit. In the app there is no way to manually enter the receipt except for scanning or entering the bar code number manually. I can't take a picture of the receipt to submit it. Thanks

So you are not able to manually enter the TC number that you're saying is on the bottom of your paper receipt into the Ibotta app and you're not able to scan the barcode that is also on the bottom of your receipt into the Ibotta app?  That is the only way to manually submit a receipt for Walmart, scanning the receipt or entering the TC number, there is no picture taking with Walmart.

That's correct. I can't get the receipt to scan or enter in manually. Via the attachment I sent at the bottom says that you can still earn cash back by submitting your paper receipts by taking pictures of the receipt on the app. Thanks

@bbjrevis  Ibotta doesn’t accept receipts taken w phone camera, unless you’re speaking of submitting ticket through care team. Are you submitting receipt for the back to school deals? If you are, you must download chrome extension on pc

Thanks for the reply. I have the extension. This was the only way to unlock the free deals but I prefer shopping in store because most of the time when I do an online shopping order some of the items get cancelled because they are out of stock. I've always been able to just scan in the receipt and get my credits within a few minutes. Thanks

I had this issue and spent a couple hours talking with Walmart Customer Support.  They opened an incident report, ticket #210717-57035-8148-0000.  If you are still not able to scan your Walmart receipt, you can call 800-966-6546 and reference this ticket number.

I only had three items to submit to Ibotta, so I returned them and repurchased the items at Customer Service.  Immediately submitted the receipt to Ibotta and it worked.

I am guessing there was an issue with Walmart receipts that started yesterday.  I don't know if the original TC# will ever be corrected, but I got my credit from Ibotta.

I encountered issues with Walmart Receipts starting on July 4.  I purchased a Butterball breakfast sausage product. Received credit for 1 item and not the other.  Well I just wrote it off believing it was just one of those things that happens every now and then. I didn't bother submitting a TT.. now this week it seems like it's a major issue system wide.  I'm planning on shopping Monday.
