After seeing this I was hesitant, but I went to a cashier vs. self-checkout at Walmart this evening. Everything worked as usual, as @123Save said.
Cashier had a little trouble with my Pay with Ibotta gift card, but I think it was an error on his end. A CS rep came and manually entered the numbers on the gift card and all was fine.
I got an answer to the pending question I had with Ibotta Care about what was causing the issue. I had this question after they had issued the missing credits. I thought I'd post the response. It had been pending with Care before I responded to @LaraL.
Ibotta Care response:
@MB2 As a long time IT support specialist, I can confirm that the response is a load of baloney. This is the equivalent of “Have you tried restarting your computer?”. From my personal experience, the fact that I don’t have problems scanning with other apps tells me that there is something wrong with the Ibotta app. It’s possible that following those suggestions will correct the problem temporarily but Ibotta needs to correct the issue in their app.
Ibotta is not showing up online even though I'm using the browser extension. Checked to make sure I am logged in. I don't know what to do. Is anyone else having issues from a laptop?
Someone had suggested it might have been an issue resulting from the self checkout. Well this morning I used a live cashier to checkout. I paid using Walmart pay and the qualifying items rebates are automatically credited to my account. All but two items were credited.
I attempted to manually enter TC # and received error message..
I sent the Care Team a message requesting credited for missing rebates.
This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks I have encountered issues submitting receipts from Walmart for Armorall extreme glass cleaner.
The Care Team is oblivious to the product or issue and just adds money to your account without resolving the issue.
That's why I posted The resolution causes a conflict
Now a week later the system is still having the same problem. When using Walmart pay users don't have the option to review items prior to submitting its done automatically.
There are MANY reasons why the barcode on a Walmart receipt may not work in Ibotta. One mentioned already is a blurry or low-ink issue. In this case, you should be able to enter the TC# on the receipt and it should be accepted in Ibotta.
However, the problem I had from a Friday night receipt was NOT an Ibotta issue. Yes, I tried to scan the receipt and it would not work. But I also entered in the TC# and it said the same thing. The reason I say it was not an Ibotta issue is because the Walmart app could not scan the receipt. Even entering the TC# in the Walmart app did not work.
I suspect some people had issues with this Walmart issue, but others have just had a bad barcode that Ibotta could not read.
After the issues that happened this weekend, I would propose Ibotta add another way to submit a Walmart receipt: let us scan the receipt like we do for other grocery stores when the other methods don't work.
I removed app and reinstalled still getting the same error message
the submission is missing items. Two weeks ago I could manually enter TC for credit on missing items.
