This is more than just a name change question. The store I'm referring to is Tops Friendly Market (aka Tops). The whole chain was bought out by two different companies. My particular store is becoming Grand Union this Saturday. How do we report these kind of changes to Ibotta? There is no way to report new stores or changes in stores to them. Any help would be appreciated because if this grocery store is any good I'll be shopping there.
There are groups with Ibotta that do work directly with stores, thus Savers shouldn't have to report store name changes. However, I've passed this store change question to the appropriate teams.
If paper receipts still have the Tops logo, they should be submitted under that retailer. However, stores that aren't in the app likely won't be accepted (if submitted through the app). These will need to be sent to the Care Team for manual rewarding.
I would open a request with Ibotta Care.
The other possibility is to have @JuliannaV pass the word on to the appropriate group.
I just checked my Ibotta app and I don't see Grand Union listed. If your store was being added to an existing chain, then you would just have to submit your receipts to that retailer.
If you contact the management of your store, they may be able to tell you if Ibotta will be supported.
Have you considered sending GU a message about their relationship with IB?

The stores have to do that. Let me guess you're on the East Coast

Grand Union? I thought they went out of business over a decade ago?! What a blast from the past. Guess only the ones in the NY county I lived in went belly up. Interesting to know they’re still around somewhere.
