Many people who frequent WAGS decide not to go for a bonus such as "EARN $7 WYS $15+ IN FOUR SEPARATE TRANSACTIONS". Others do not mess with WAGS much because the prices are so high. So I wanted to create this post to demonstrate how you can get a lot of great Dove items and others while making a considerable 'moneymaker'. It does take a decent amount of effort, and a great deal of your 'earnings' are actually spending money out of your pocket but then getting WC instead. As such, WC is not liquid like cash, and the true 'value' of $35 in WC is only realized when you spend it on a subsequent deal. So while we all consider WC the same as cash for deal details, it really isn't. Also, it can be tricky to get rid of WC because paying with WC for a deal where you are using a spend booster may result in having to spend more to get above your threshold to earn WC.
In short, I spent $85.07, but got around $104.66 back in rebates and WC. (roughly $20.61 FETCH, $37 WC, $2.06 SK, $19.09 ibotta, $1.90 C51, $24 SB) So it isn't for everyone.
Your post was an excellent description of how to use your tools(apps) to get the most bang for your bucks. I like that you make clear that saving money this way takes effort. Thank you for sharing!
@Rickibotta That’s an amazing deal and great explanation. But as you always say, YMMV. I decided to check the deals and right away I was disappointed. Started with the first three items and found 1) no SK, 2) no BOGO, and 3) no Fetch. Oh well. I guess I’ll stick to getting free toothpaste. Hey, where’s the free toothpaste?
Unfortunately I needed 4 transactions over $15, so that took a week. And then it took almost a week to find the time to type it all up, so the first transactions are now 2 weeks old. So that is also why it was a brag rather than a deal.
I am glad you mentioned that Walgreens Cash is not really cash. Yes, it is good for a year, but it can be hard to spend it.
Many times, I go into Walgreens to shop a deal, which requires me to spend a certain amount. Example: Earn $9 in WC when you spend $40. The problem is, any WC you spend is subtracted from the total making it harder to get to $40.
I have over $100 in WC and I have to get OUT of the SAVE mode and just spend them. But I still try to use them on items that are on sale. It is sometimes hard to switch modes.
A few things I get to reduce my WC balance:
I noticed that you got the 20% off deal for Senior Day. I always try to get to Walgreens on the first Tuesday of the month to get this discount. Unfortunately, it is only on regular priced items.
My Walgreens has a small section where most of the items are $1.00. I get things like drink packets, Nissin Top Ramen Chicken Bowls and a few other items. The other great deal is toilet paper, the LARGEST size. The largest size usually isn't on sale, but the large size is decently priced because of the size. Subtract off 20% and it's a good deal.
@Rickibotta Excellent stacking! I'm jealous of your multi-purchase booster. Mine is 9x purchases of $30 each. Which I will never reach because I keep most of my OOP spend transactions on the smaller side. But I'd easily hit 4x $15 in one month.
