Re: Buying GC's quietly increased!

Yikes! This really did happen overnight. I wish Ibotta ratcheted the GC amounts incrementally, say from $5 to $10 instead of jumping to $20. Kinda like @AshbobSanDiego my Ibotta use and shopping habits will change a bit. I already had scaled back my WM shopping frequency after the GC amount went up.

I believe gift cards are now only applying once to each bonus as well.  Can't tell for sure if thats what happened, but something out of my 5 item 2 bonus and 2 Walmart gc cards stack did not credit to my midweek bonus.  Can anyone else confirm if they've noticed the same?

I just remembered here in CA that you can request and the store is required to cash out gift cards with less than a $10 balance.  I never thought about doing this with GC’s I bought from Ibotta under $10 but I can see how every GC purchase under $10 is a potential MM transaction in CA.
since CA has this law on the books, I guess I am not as disappointed in Ibotta and they are protecting themselves and the retailers from a potential user MM scheme.

Once again CA law ruins things for everyone!

This is sooooo disappointing!!! A $20 gc for Starbucks??!! Get out!! Sometimes I have to get one $5-$7 with my earnings and another $5-7 from my bank if I have a low bank balance... Hence the need for cash back apps, am I right?? Also, there's many places I don't use a full $20 and really like being able to get the exact amount i.e. Petco, my total is almost always $17.62. why do I want that extra $2.38 floating. This is VERY annoying!!! I try to use Ibotta for EVERYTHING and I tell literal strangers about it. Guess those ats are over... Serious bummer!!
