So sorry to hear you are going thru it. I hope you are getting what you want from others during this time.
For me, my mom always gave me chicken noodle soup (Campbells only, sodium and all) and hi-c, that is when she was not giving me cod live or castor oil.
@Janet1964 , Just saw your post. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. Give yourself lots of rest and liquids. You're probably right about avoiding dairy for now. But if you start to feel like you can't catch your breath, get medical help asap. We're all keeping you in our thoughts. Hope you get on the mend soon.
It is the beginning of Day 4 of isolation and my husband got sick yesterday. I felt pretty good yesterday (for being sick) but today has not started out that good. My fever broke late Saturday night at least. This homemade cough syrup is amazing. I wake up in the middle of the night with my throat hurting so bad that I can’t sleep and drinking water will not calm it down at all and I take a teaspoon of this stuff and ten minutes later my throat doesn’t hurt at all. I sound awful but it doesn’t hurt.
I had to cancel my neighbor’s dr appt for this morning. I told her if she got sick from either of us- there would be no one left to take HER to a dr. And she is 77 years old.
@Janet1964 Homemade remedies can be amazing. I found a homemade decongestant recipe that works wonders for me. Why spend a bunch of money trying different products that leave you feeling loopy when you can get relief using pantry items.
I think I would like the recipe please.
2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tablespoons Raw Honey
2 tablespoons water
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
shake well, it will be watery. Keep in fridge in airtight jar. Take 1/2 tsp up to 1 tablespoon as needed.
it burns a little but it stops within a minute and the throat quits hurting within 10 minutes. I mean pain level goes from 8 to 0 in less than 10 minutes. And it stops the coughing also.
I hope this helps someone.
