Do you speak Ibotta?

OBSHOP
Shopping Enthusiast

All Ibotta users,

I am a retired U.S. Army soldier, I have a diverse collection of military jargon and acronyms, now it is time to learn Ibotta jargon and acronyms. When I read some of the post I am lost when I run across some of the jargon and acronyms used some I have figured out and other I just do not get. I have been using Ibotta for 13 months now and contributing to the group forums since January which I would have started earlier. Anyone with a favorite jargon and acronyms please post here when I get a good collection of Ibotta jargon and acronyms. I will repost a consolidated  list.

There are certainly a few acronyms unique to Ibotta like MWMM or WW.

@OBSHOP  Thank you for your service!! 🇺🇸
 I have only been here for about a month and  would love to know what some of the lingo means!!!  I’m figuring it out slowly and have got some of them down but still lost on a lot of it.  Definitely will be following this 😃

@OBSHOP what a great and fun idea! It is like trying to translate a foreign language sometimes lol. I will put my thinking cap on to contribute to the list!

My son is active Army Intel. He recently won soldier of the month and went on to win soldier of the quarter board. SUPER proud mama! He's planned for Germany in July but has an opportunity he's considering that would more likely keep him states side. He's still weighing the options out.

Thank you for your service! Salute!

Thank you for your service.

Maybe list the ones you don't know and people can spell them out for you. I haven't been in the rebate/coupon world much in the last couple of years and I feel rusty myself.

The point of this thread is to help those who don't know the lingo by including them here so all users can reference and understand all this ibotta slang talk.

@OBSHOP I'm fairly new but this is what I've figured out from reading and process of elimination. There really should be a glossary lol.

FAO = Free after offer

WW = Weekend Warrior bonus

MM = Money Maker

MWMM = Mid Week Money Maker (I think)

BOGO: Buy one, get one. Will usually end with “free” or “half off” meaning buy one, get one half off; or buy one, get one free.

B1G1, B2G1: Another way to write “buy one, get one.” The “B” stands for “buy,” the G stands for “get.” The numbers indicate the quantity of a product that must be purchased to qualify and the number of products received when redeeming the coupon or offer. B1G1 = Buy one, get one. B2G1 = Buy two, get one. B2G2 = Buy two, get two.

@OBSHOP  Not every soldier can say that... my father was wounded in WW 11 , lost his leg hit by a mortar in Germany  infantry & when he was  flown to Walter Reed my mother was a WAC.... so I don’t think they would agree.
