I heard some much about ibotta and finally signed up on 5/23/2021. I have successfully verified my email address, phone number and my account seems to be either locked or deactivated on 5/23/2021. How could this happen as i haven't started using the ibotta app or submitted any receipts. I did submit a request with not much help.
Is ibotta not welcoming new members at the moment ?
@Wayne , welcome to Ibotta! I’m sorry you are having these troubles at the start of your experience. Is it that you can’t log in at all, or you’re not able to redeem your receipts? I have heard that sometimes new accounts get locked when they are trying to cash out (these are usually fixed easily by sending in a ticket) but it sounds like you haven’t even been able to start using the app. @LaraL is our Ibotta queen on this board who can usually look into issues and at least help us know what’s going on. Hopefully she will be able to help you with this.
2 Emails came at 11:36am & 11:37am ET today.
First email states that 'We have completed the review and have restored full access to your account and earnings'
Second email states 'We deactivated your account either temporarily or permanently for violating Ibotta's TOU'
Considering these 2 emails, Ibotta isn't welcoming new members and/or clueless about what's happening with support teams.
I know it is the same thing, but if I were serving her, I would have called it summonsing........lol
nobody wants to get a summons
but sometimes being summoned is not so bad
