Not getting credit for sale purchases at Giant Eagle

Anyone else getting credits taken away when purchasing at Giant Eagle because Ibotta thinks it’s returned items when really it’s a sale item. I lost out on the items and the $10 bonus because of this!!  I’m so disappointed. Has happened to me multiple times. Why would I return groceries?!

I have not experienced this to my knowledge. I generally submit my GE offers by receipt, but occasionally it won't pick up certain offers. When that happens, the offer is almost always picked up the next day because I also have my account linked. I will have to pay closer attention in the future to see if this becomes a problem!

It’s the ones that have the minus next to them. Ibotta took the money back bc they thought I returned the food. Smh

It sounds like you need to open a Request with Ibotta.

In the Ibotta app, go to Account, then Help.  Select Visit the Help Center.  At the top is Submit a Request.

Be sure to include a picture of your receipt.  You will also need to send a picture of each item and UPC for the Ibotta offers.  Be sure to mention your Bonus.  They should be able to credit you the Bonus amount, too.

It could take 2-3 days to get a response, but they have always come through for me.

As I'm thinking more about it, maybe that's why certain products won't credit from the receipt but will from my card the next day. I never paid attention to whether or not they were sale items. Do you have your advantage card linked? It's a pain in the neck for Target to have your account linked (wish they allowed the option to do either or like GE does), but having it linked to Giant Eagle has always credited the next day if it didn't pick up from my receipt.

  Yeah. If you don’t have the card linked, you have to take a pick of the receipt.like I said, they must have thought I returned the items bc there was a minus sign next to the items that were on sale.I guess I’ll have to get a new GE advantage card and link it. Too bad I missed out on the $10 bonus and the 3 items I needed to buy to get the bonus. Ibotta wants me to send them another pic of the receipt and the barcodes of the items and pics of the boxes. Too late. Already gone   Ugh

@Tetelestai

I am not sure I understand your comments "It's a pain in the neck for Target to have your account linked (wish they allowed the option to do either or like GE does)"

Currently, linking with Target is temporarily down in Ibotta (as of 06/28/22).

I shop in-store at Target and DO NOT link my Ibotta account with Target.  However, if you do Target Pickup/Online, you need to be linked.  For now, you will have to submit a picture of your receipt.

Part of the problem is that many retailers do not give you a register receipt when you order online, so there is no way to submit your receipt via the app.

Walgreens is one retailer that will give you a receipt when you do a Pickup order.

GE allows for a linked account OR paper receipt. I have my GE account linked, but I submit the paper receipt for quicker crediting since the option allows for it. If an offer doesn't go through from paper, the next morning I get credited through my linked account. GE, like Walgreens, also gives a paper receipt for store pick ups, just throwing that out there.

My Target reference was in regards to online pickup. I wish there was either an option to submit screen shots from my receipt (since they always ask for them anyway because 95% of the time my offers never get credited properly) OR I wish the crediting was more efficient like Walmart's when you have an account linked for store pick up (though Walmart is not always flawless, I almost always get credited unlike with Target).
